C. S. Lewis was a Christian apologist who was once an atheist and wrote “I didn’t go to religion to make me happy. I always knew a bottle of Port would do that. If you want religion to make you feel really comfortable, I certainly do not recommend Christianity.” (God in the Dock, 1970. William B. Eerdmans Publishing Company). Indeed, there are many obstacles to prevent us from living out Christ’s word in our lives.
Reflect back on Lewis’ statement:
What are the obstacles you personally have experienced in living out your spiritual best practices? How have you helped to overcome them?
